Round three of our annual president’s Cup match play competition is on the go. See the bracket below for details.
We have 25 entrants in this year’s President’s Cup match play competition. This year’s event will be a single elimination tournament (see the draw below) that will conclude during the first week of August (at the latest), giving us more time for other events. The draw was randomly generated using www.challonge.com. Each match will be governed by one set of rules (see below). Players are required to have an updated RCGA handicap before matches begin.

It’s good sportsmanship not to pick up lost balls while they’re still rolling.
We are once again preparing for the annual match play competition. Last year’s champ, Jonathan Murphy, is anxiously awaiting all challengers. Members may sign up in the pro shop, at the starter’s shed, or by contacting Ian directly at icoffin@eastlink.ca. Depending on numbers, we will offer either a single or double elimination tournament.
One change this year involves the rules which govern each match. Due to inconsistencies in matches last season (and the resulting disputes), every match will be governed by one clear set of playing rules (similar to the rules which govern our annual club championship). A detailed description of the rules will also be available on the blog, in the pro shop, and in the starter’s shed. All matches will be governed by this set of rules.
The deadline to enter the President’s Cup is Wednesday, June 13. The first round will commence on Monday, June 18.
Member times begin at 8:10 this week.
Success depends almost entirely on how effectively you learn to manage the game’s two ultimate adversaries: the course and yourself.

Golf Links PEI has provided the members’ association with this year’s price list. You may click the link below to access the official document. There will be no price increases from last year, however, the course will officially close October 1, 2012 in order that the remaining greens receive the maintenance originally scheduled for last year.
Crowbush members will be able to play Brudenell until the end of the golf season and all member benefits (carts, range balls, etc) will apply.
There have been some improvements to the course in the off season as well:

From Ryan at Golf Links:
Dear Crowbush Member,
As you are aware we had planned on renovating our greens beginning Oct. 11. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances that plan has changed, and we will not be resodding greens this fall. We will undertake this project and members will have advance notice of the date the project will begin.
The golf course and golf shop will remain open until the 16th of October. Our regular fall maintenance will begin on Oct.11 which will consist of the aeration of tees, fairways and greens. Tee times will begin at 10:00 during this week and reservations may be made.
