Procedures at PEIFG Courses for 2020

Below are the procedures that have been put in place to follow the guidelines set out by the CPHO.

TEE TIME RESERVATIONS

  • Tee times must be reserved over the phone (1-800-235-8909) or online. No golfers will be permitted on the course without a tee time at any point in the day. Our first tee time is the first time of the day, no play will be permitted before we open.
  • We will book groups of 2, 3 or 4 players. We are not allowed to pair groups together of less than four. If you reserve a tee time as a twosome, another twosome or single will not be added to your group. You can however make a change to your group size prior to your reservation.
  • When you book a tee time (either by phone or online) we require the following information:
    • The name of each player in the group.
    • Each person’s email and phone number (in most cases we will have this info if the players are members).
    • If you wish to reserve a cart.
  • We will not reserve tee times for single players more than 1 day in advance.
  • Anyone who wishes to “replay” after their first round will be required to reserve a time online or over the phone. Please follow the same arrival procedures in place for the first tee time.
  • No substitution of players will be allowed at the course. Please call us prior to arrival if you have any changes to make to your reservation.

ARRIVAL AT THE COURSE

  • Golfers will be asked to arrive no more than 20 minutes prior to their assigned tee time. The practice facility and practice putting and chipping greens are all closed.
  • When you arrive at the course, you must check in with our Bag Drop staff in the clubhouse parking lot. They will confirm your tee time, remind you about physical distancing, and find out if you need a pull cart or golf cart
  • If possible please park close to the others in your group. You must remain at your vehicle until we will send you down to the first tee when the starter is ready for you. Golf carts and pull carts will be brought to you.
  • At this time we will allow 1 power cart per person (maximum 4 carts per group), until further notice (this may change at some point during the season). Members that can verify they are from the same household will be allowed to share a cart.
  • If a player is late arriving at the course; we will direct them how to get to their group.
  • You must have a tee time reserved to be able to play.

AT THE FIRST TEE (play will only start at hole # 1)

  • The Starter will radio our bag drop staff when it is time to send a group to the first tee.
  • The Starter will provide a scorecard, pencil, and tees upon request (to be placed in the golfers’ carts while they are hitting their tee shots).
  • Golfers will be reminded to keep safe physical distancing at all times. (2 meters)
  • Groups will be reminded they cannot join others groups during the round. If you start as a twosome, you are not permitted to join another twosome that may be ahead or behind you.
  • The Starter will give a demo of the flagstick device used at our courses to remove the ball from the hole. Click here to see a short video of it in operation.
  • Immediately following play, golfers will be asked to proceed to the parking area and dispose of their own garbage and leave without delay to avoid gatherings in the parking lot.

ON THE COURSE

  • Player Assistant(s) will patrol the course to oversee:
    • Pace of play
    • Golfers are respecting physical distancing.
    • If any of our guidelines are being ignored you will be asked to leave the course.
  • There will not be any course furniture out at this time, this includes ball washers, benches, club washers, shoe scrapers, garbage cans and divot mix buckets.
  • Please play the course in order from hole #1 to hole #18, moving from hole to hole to avoid other golfers is not permitted.
  • Washrooms will be open on the course. The portable units will not be available at this time.
  • The beverage cart will be on the course, limited menu only.
  • Please keep your garbage with you until you see the beverage cart, player assistant or until the end of the round where we will bring you a place to put your trash and recyclables.

AFTER THE ROUND

  • Our bag drop staff will meet golfers at their car, give you a place to dispose of your garbage and pick up rental pull carts and power carts.
  • Golfers will not be permitted to remain in the parking lot after the round.

At this point the Clubhouse is only open for washroom access only. If you need anything in the Golf Shop please let the bag drop attendants know, we are doing curbside delivery for items in the Golf Shop.

  1. Lateral Hazards: all woods, fescue, and environmentally sensitive areas on the course are designated as lateral hazards. Players who hit their balls into these areas, on a slice or hook, for example, may declare the ball lost and drop the ball laterally (within two club lengths) at the point of entry (no closer to the hole) and add a stroke. If the ball is located and is playable, the player may play it without penalty.
  2. Hazards: a player’s shot should clear any hazard before play continues. A player has the option of playing out of a hazard provided he can locate his ball and he does not ground his club.
  3. Drop zones over water hazards: if a player hits his first ball into the hazard (6, 7, 8, 11, 16), he must attempt a second shot over the hazard before proceeding to the drop zone (for example, if a player hits his second shot into the water on number 11 in his attempt to cross it, he must attempt a second shot over the water before proceeding to the drop area – where he’d be now hitting his sixth shot).
